MAC Tropical Taboo Mineralize Skinfinishes-Review and Swatches!

After a year or so of contemplating whether to buy any of MAC's Mineralize Skinfinishes, I finally decided to try out the 3 new shades featured in the recent Tropical Taboo collection.

I figured the 3 limited edition shades from this collection could also be used as blushes which made me even more eager to purchase them and experiment with the possible uses they could have to offer. The shades Soft and Gentle as well as Gold Deposit were also featured in the Tropical Taboo collection, but they are permanent items so they can be purchased at any time.

Rio

Rio is described as being a "bronze with bright pink pearl" which highlights its extremely versatile use.
What I like about this shade is the fact that it can be used as both a bronzer and a blush, depending on what part of the product you use.

As you can see, the various bright pink veining runs throughout the bronze tone to create a beautiful colour and texture that could flatter every skin tone if applied correctly.

Adored

Adored is described as being a "coral with light beige pearl" which seemed to me like a very flattering colour for a highlight on the cheekbone and brow bone or a subtle blush for those with very pale skin. On me, personally, it worked better as a highlight colour as even though my skin is quite pale, it was not pale enough for this to clearly show up on my cheeks.

The particular Adored skinfinish I got mainly consisted of the light beige pearl that is spoken of in the description which is probably why it did not double as a blush for me. This shade could still work nicely on all skin tones if applied in the correct places but if, like mine, it mainly consists of the light beige pearl, then people with darker skin tones may need to be more aware of the ashiness that the product could create.

Lust

Lust, by far, is my favourite shade out of the 3 Mineralize Skinfinishes I purchased. It is described as a "pale pink with cranberry pearl" which immediately attracted me. When swatched, this shade is clearly more of a blush colour but depending on skin tone, it can also be used as a highlighter if desired. It has the most beautiful shimmery pink effect which I will look forward to wearing all summer.

The pale pink and cranberry colours compliment each other outstandingly to make it an eye-catching yet every day colour for the cheeks. If of a lighter complexion, I wouldn't advise you heavily applying it to the cheekbone as the pink colour can be very clearly seen, but lightly patting it on the cheekbone could probably help to solve that problem.

Overall

I am actually very impressed with these Mineralize Skinfinishes and I am now eager to purchase more in the future.

These 3 shades are beautiful summer colours that are extremely versatile and can be used for many occasions. You can build up on the colour without them looking caked onto the face which will result in a strong yet natural looking glow.

Rio, Adored and Lust are all limited edition colours so get them whilst you still can!

They are currently priced at £22 each and I definitely recommend them.
